Light Ode

28 May - 14 June 2026

Chrissie Cotter Gallery

Light Ode is the culmination of a six year body of work, focusing on the ephemeral effects of light in the suburban environment. Arnold has explored scale through expansive drawing installation, intimate artist books, and working in series. Her fascination with a warm glowing palette reflects the transient lighting of the subjects she documents; illuminated by fleeting sun or streetlights.

Mindful Drawing + Bookbinding Workshop

As part of the the Light Ode programming, Olivia ran a 15 person workshop inside her exhibition, focusing on meditative drawing. Participants were guided through a variety of mindful drawing techniques, then continued to develop these drawings into a series. They then learned how to bind their work together into an artist book they could take home.

This workshop was kindly supported by the Inner West Council Creative Grant Program.

Feedback from participants:

“What a magical day, thank you Liv. I had the best time drawing and book binding today in your beautiful exhibition space”
